Tomato Tamarind (Imlee/Imli) sauce can be a good accompaniment to spice-up other food items. The sweet, sour and hot combo of “Tomato Tamarind (Imlee/Imli) Sauce” adds extra taste and can be a good appetizer.
The tamarind - tomato sauce can be used as a dipping sauce (chutney) for Kachori (Kachauri or Kachuri), Samosa, Dhokla, Chips, Paratha, Chicken Tikka, Fish Tikka, fried Fish, Chicken Pakoda etc. The recipe of ‘Tomato Tamarind Sauce’ is as follows -
Ingredients:
== Tomato - 2 medium sized (chopped into small pieces)
== Tamarind (paste) - ¼ cup
== Tomato sauce - ¼ cup
== Sugar - 2 tsp
== Cumin seed dry roasted (powder) - ½ tsp
== Cinnamon (powder) - ½ tsp
== Red chili (powder) - 1 tsp
== Salt to taste
Methods:
Mix all the ingredients in a hand blender. Cook for 2-3 minutes on a medium flame. Allow to cool before serving.
